Xander's Accomplishments

What has Xander accomplished? So much. I could write pages and pages about the first time he said a spontaneous, appropriate complete sentence, learned to read, said, "I love you" first. Xander accomplishes so much everyday just by learning to adapt and deal with a world that has a different view from him. He teaches me patience, he gives joy. Below is a link to a video of how much Xander accomplished over the last year and a half. He works so hard.

  6. @Life - We've done several therapies as documented here: http://happy13-waitwhat.blogspot.com/2010/03/ill-do-it-my-way-thank-you-very-much.html

Berard AIT is the therapy that we saw the most drastic, instant results with. The first part of the video is right before, the 2nd part is during the Berard therapy and the last part is 9 months later.

Here's the link to their website. http://www.berardaitwebsite.com/
Only those on this site are certified as valid Berard AIT practitioners. Beware of anyone not listed.

  8. Wow. What a conversation! I think I would faint if I could get my boy to engage in such a sustained and appropriate talk. And he's 13.

    Adorable smile too!

  11. Thank you everyone. He really has come a long way. We still can't have a back and forth conversation with him; however, he can answer the hell out of some questions.

I have a 4 year old on the spectrum...we're really behind on the language thing, but have high hopes w/ ABA. :)
